- The Principal at Wessex Charity Consultants is Angus McNicol.
- Angus is a Trustee of three charities – WESC Foundation- The Specialist Centre for Visual Impairment, Topsham Adventure Centre and Exeter Dispensary and Aid in Sickness Fund.
- Having been a solicitor and Partner at West Country based solicitors, Foot Anstey, for around 30 years, in 2011 Angus started working initially as a volunteer and later as a paid consultant for a number of assorted charities which are detailed in the “Current and Past Projects” section.
- Angus was at Queen Mary College London from 1974 to 1977 where he achieved a 2.1 degree in History.
- He later converted to Law and qualified as a Solicitor in 1981 becoming a Partner in Foot Anstey Solicitors in 1987 where he worked as a Civil Dispute Resolution solicitor (Litigation as it used to be called!) until 2011.
- As well as developing the skills to organize large scale cases for court, as part of a large team, Angus also qualified as a Mediator in 1990 and continues to mediate disputes regularly.
- He was also Trustee and Director of Estuary League of Friends from 2000 to 2007.
- Since May 2011 Angus has worked with a number of charities including Devon Air Ambulance, Headway Exeter, St Loye’s Foundation, Community Action South West, Trinity Sailing Trust and the Topsham Scouts.
- Having lived and worked in Topsham and Exeter in the business world and latterly in the Charity Sector for over 30 years and having been a member of Starcross Yacht Club, Topsham Sailing Club and Exeter Golf and Country Club for most of that time, Angus is perceived to be someone with a business network second to none and therefore able to reach the key decision makers that others cannot reach.
